Irish Setter

Bred to set game for the huntsman's net and for the sport of falconry, the Irish Setter is a talented field dog and hunting companion. An active, aristocratic-looking animal, he is built on racy elegant lines. His hallmark is his luxuriant rich red mahogany jacket.

Typically Irish with a devil-may-care attitude and rollicking personality, he is high-spirited to the point of sometimes being a little headstrong. However, he is eminently trainable, providing you are patient and make allowances for the fact that he matures more slowly than some other breeds. Although he mellows with age, the Irish Setter still retains the joie de vivre and boisterous good humour which endears him to his many fans.

This breed requires considerable exercise and regular grooming. Sweet natured, intelligent and very affectionate, the Irish Setter is good with children and makes an excellent family pet.

Height approximately 69 cm
Weight approximately 32kg.
